UTA Offers Travel Options to Pioneer Day Events Like Days of 47 Parade and Olympics Announcement

SALT LAKE CITY — July 17, 2024 — The Utah Transit Authority encourages travelers to plan ahead to use transit for Salt Lake City’s Days of ‘47 Parade, Olympics Celebration 2034, and other activities on Pioneer Day, July 24. Bus, TRAX and FrontRunner will be operating on the holiday, with some temporary adjustments to Salt Lake City downtown bus routes to accommodate the Days of ‘47 Parade and marathon. Riders are encouraged to sign up for service alerts by text message and check schedules for the most up-to-date information.

UTA Bus Service:

  • Bus routes 1, 2, 4, 9, 200, 205, 209, 220, 223, and 470 will be temporarily detoured until noon on July 24 to accommodate the parade and Pioneer Day festivities
  • Bus detours may result in delays of approximately 15 minutes

UTA TRAX Service:

  • On July 24, TRAX will operate on its standard weekday schedule
  • On July 23, overnight campers for the Days of ‘47 Parade or Olympics Celebration 2034 can take TRAX Red Line to Washington Square:
    • The last train from Daybreak Station to University Medical Center Station departs at 10:24 p.m., arriving at Library Station at 11:11 p.m.
    • The last train from University Medical Center Station departs at 11:30 p.m., arriving at Library Station at 11:44 p.m.

FrontRunner Service:

  • FrontRunner will operate on a modified Saturday schedule on July 24:
    • Northbound: First train from Provo Central Station departs at 4:53 a.m.; last train at 9:53 p.m.
    • Southbound: First train from Ogden Central Station departs at 5:08 a.m.; last train at 10:08 p.m.
