UTA is excited to partner with the Salt Lake City School District, the Salt Lake Education Foundation and Salt Lake City to provide transit passes to all students – grade school through high school - faculty and
staff in the Salt Lake City School District.
The transit pass will be available beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, and is valid on all regular bus routes, TRAX, the S-Line Streetcar, as well as UTA On Demand in the SLC Westside service zone.
(FrontRunner, Ski Bus, and PC-SLC Connect are not included.*)
The Salt Lake City School District transit pass is valid for a full calendar year at no cost to the user. The transit pass will provide more options and convenience for students going to and from school, to school activities, and anywhere else they wish to travel.
It’s easy to use the Salt Lake School District transit pass, just Plan, Tap and Ride!
PLAN – Plan your trip by downloading the Transit app from the App store or Google Play. You can also view Maps and Schedules or call UTA Customer Service at 801-RIDE-UTA (801-743-3882).
TAP – Tap on any UTA card reader when boarding a bus or on a rail platform, check for the green light
RIDE - Use your pass on any UTA Bus, TRAX, S-Line Streetcar, or UTA On Demand. To learn more about how to ride, click here.

The Salt Lake City School District transit pass program is unprecedented, for the first time making transit passes available to all students, faculty and staff district-wide. It will provide more mobility options and promote increased transit use and improved air quality.
* FrontRunner, Ski Bus, paratransit, and PC-SLC Connect are not included in the transit pass. To ride Frontrunner, Ski Bus or PC-SLC Connect, simply purchase an upgraded ticket when you board.
